In This Issue:

What is the
Inner Circle?

The term "Inner Circle" describes three different types of groups, listed here in order from smallest to largest, shortest lasting to longest enduring:

  1. Any group while they are playing Morton's List or otherwise experiencing Random Reality.

  2. A named group organized around playing Morton's List and/or experiencing Random Reality (usually referred to as a "Local Inner Circle")

  3. The group containing all people who have ever played Morton's List or otherwise been awakened by direct experience with Random Reality (usually referred to as the "Global Inner Circle")

Members of the Global Inner Circle are united by the desire to enjoy Random Reality, whether as a leisure activity or a tool for personal evolution, growth and fulfillment. In other respects they are an incredibly diverse group with wide ranging interests. Members' takes and interests in Morton's List and Random Reality vary widely, with some concentrating on combating boredom in their lives through wildly unusual activities. Whereas others who never feel bored instead use Random Reality to to help them see the bigger picture and not get caught up in being busy all the time. Still others tap into the non-dual spirituality of Random Reality, using it like a compass to always point them towards enlightenment.

The Global Inner Circle is the broad foundation of the movement, or Random Reality Revolution, which brings the entertainment and profound benefits of this lifestyle and philosophy to people everywhere. Currently, there are an estimated 60,000 active members of the Global Inner Circle, worldwide, with the majority living in the U.S. and English speaking countries. Those aged 13 to 30 tend to be most receptive to the message, though Random Reality works for all ages, genders, races and cultural backgrounds.

Using Random Reality to purposely introduce chance into our lives we stir the pot, unclog the arteries and remove the rust inhibiting us from realizing and reaching our full potential. The Global Inner Circle is waking up, one member at a time, to the limitless possibilities within. You are invited to join the Global Inner Circle and participate in this extraordinary process.

The BookBinder - Consumed by "The Book"

Judging by the comments received by The Radius, many regular Radius readers enjoyed The Astonishing Oddball's serial article, The BookBinder. Not only that they got something out of it they could apply to their own Questing experience. Not all of us are blessed with the creative drive possessed by OddBall, but everyone came away inspired. Although The BookBinder is on sabbatical until further notice, we want to encourage all Inner Circle members who keep Quest journals, whether handmade or official Quest Books, to continue to push the limits of self expression and keep the spirit OddBall infused into The Radius ongoing and evolving.

Although little can be said about the secret project OddBall has been working on, we at Center are both excited and apprehensive. It is indeed a grand project, but also a dangerous one. One that taps into dark and arcane forces so strong that the artifact eventually forged from this genius (madness?) will be forever unable to rest. Once given life, its power will wax and wane as it passes quickly to each eager hand and even quicker away from a wiser, more cautious hand. It may even come to be in your possession, just take care lest it possess you....

Welcome to The Radius

From the people in the front,

To the people in the back,

If your breath ain't funky and you feel all right,

Somebody say Twilight!

A new year begins, and the old year recedes. Quests ever changing, the Inner Circle always growing, and new experiences unfolding. On the streets of Indianapolis, and in the furthest reaches of space, Morton's List is the Inner Circle's gateway to random adventures and personal Karma.

A full moon hangs in the background, cool clouds billow. Hooded sweatshirts and black hats. Members of an Inner Circle are poised, ready for whatever the die reveals. Ready for any Quest, any contingency, without hesitation, fluid in the ever changing torrents of Fate, Chance and Karma.

The Boulder may reveal a common Quest, or it may reveal the most important change in one's life, or it may reveal that the Inner Circle return home. All of these are a map of reality as the Global Inner Circle creates a new year.

The Dice are Real,

The Reality is Random,

The Karmic Order of Twilight Lords,

2007: Looking Back

From Karmic Year 13 to Morton's List: Year Six and More

2007 For everyone in the Global Inner Circle, 2007 was a culmination of Karma that was building since July 13th, 2001 when Morton's List first opened to the world. From then until recently, Morton's List grew silently in the background, simmering and crackling.

Then, on October, Friday the 13th in 2006, OctoberList marked the beginning of Karmic Year 13 and truly began the events of 2007. What followed was a year of Karmic Gatherings, conventions, and every kind of random meeting. The 2007 Tour de Chance was to contain limitless tactics, genius and stupidity, creation and mayhem.

From the scattered Inner Circles across the nation, the first truly Global Inner Circle was pieced together from random nerds of Marmalade Dog, to the most highly ranked Inner Circles in Tennessee and Within, to the streets and centers of ComFest and Origins.

The return to GenCon in Indianapolis to the Rein-crow-nation at Gathering of the Juggalos '07. across the span of the country to the parched flats, shirt-cocking and wind blown chaos of Burning Man. The year concluded with a Zombie Walk and total ¡Devastacion! in Miami.

It was also a year of reconnecting with people and events, reestablishing old bonds and experimenting with new directions. 360 Degrees of the Inner Circle was renewed and Quest Book unleashed. And all the while, the longtime vision of The SuperiCore Group was made manifest, molded from dream, forged in reality.

Center, too, has grown, linking the Karmic Order of Twilight Lords, the SuperiCore Group and the Global Inner Circle not only in theory, but in practice though this very newsletter, the first volume of which was completed in 2007. This explosion of a year also saw an eruption of merchandise goin so far as to produce such useful Quest gear as camouflage messenger bags and safety vests, and supporting Inner Circle members' journeys with Title certificates a cornucopia of dice and even the first Inner Circle-licensed product, Initiate Title patches.

In total, 2007 was a year of reawakening, reclaiming. A time of reassembling and reassessing. Of laying the foundation for what is to come, and reconnecting to the current evolution and experience of Random Reality as it exists now. This past year many cards were gathered together into a hand, ready for the game to begin. No one event, product or result of 2007 can be held above the others, and every Quest is the most important yet. Every Circle, every Quest, every roll - this was the year that happened.

2008: Breaking New Ground

Opening the Gate for the Global Inner Circle

At the beginning of every Karmic Year, after October 13th, the Karmic Order of Twilight Lords meets to determine the state of Random Reality, judged by the depth of self understanding and evolution experienced by Inner Circle members. Karmic trends of the past are scrutinized and a vision for the coming year laid is made manifest and unfolded. Similarly, the SuperiCore Group meets at the start of each Gregorian year, after January 1st to assess the objectives, goals and current state of the movement. Only after analyzing the learning experiences of the past can a new vision be set forth; one based on the current reality, not past projections. Old or outdated ideas must be let go of, allowing room for new insights and inspiration to arise. The 14-year history of Morton's List and much much more was thoroughly reviewed, assessed and questioned and the most recent lessons and latest thinking were applied to create a blueprint for the coming year and beyond.

Here, then is the SuperiCore Group's State of the Movement goal report for 2008, part of the current long term projection to 2012. What follows is an outline of the public goals and objectives of the SuperiCore Group, charged with running the worldly operations of Dark Carnival Games, Morton's List and all related tasks. Each goal is followed by a statement underscoring why it is important to reach and ways the Inner Circle can work with Center to help:

Increase The SuperiCore Group's gross income by 50%

In order to build up to the level of financial freedom needed to take Morton's List and Random Reality to the millions who suffer from boredom, not knowing the cure has been found, we must meet this challenging if modest economic goal. As the SuperiCore Group represents the material and worldly side of Random Reality it is their responsibility to provide a foundation that gives the Karmic Order of Twilight Lords the ability to accomplish higher level objectives.
Every Inner Circle member can buy an item from the new Morton's List web store when it is launched, for themselves or as a gift, make a donation or otherwise monetarily support the movement. As an acting non-profit, the SuperiCore Group is proud to put 100% of all net profits directly to work funding the growth of Random Reality.

Increase the number of Morton's List game books/box sets sold by 50%

Overlapping somewhat with the previous goal (as all the 2008 goals do to some extent), it is important to increase the rate of sale for Morton's List not only to generate revenue to fund other goals, but:

  1. Increase awareness of Random Reality, encourage Inner Circle formation, etc.
  2. Cure as many people as possible. It is painful to sit on a stash of vaccine when you see people suffering from a curable disease every day. It is important to get the cure to the people who need it most as quickly and efficiently as possible.
  3. Great things await when the existing Morton's List game books and box sets are depleted. Several important and exciting projects and goals must remain on hold until certain levels of stock depletion are reached.

Every Inner Circle member can buy a copy of Morton's List for themselves or as a gift, or encourage others to do so, either through the new Morton's List web store, Amazon.com or another retailer.

Increase the number of active Authorized Morton's List Dealers by 50%

Building upon the previous goal, the AMLD program allows Dealers to buy Morton's List at unprecedented prices (below distribution level, let alone wholesale). Further, by increasing the number of AMLDs we are building an important "middle class" of Inner Circle members. People who have been so touched by the message of Morton's List and Random Reality that they feel compelled to help bring it to others. This is a natural evolution beyond personal interest in the game/lifestyle, where everyone wins, and something that must be strongly encouraged.
Every Inner Circle member is eligible to apply to become an AMLD. Contact MortonsList@gmail.com to fill out an application today.

Increase the number of stores carrying Morton's List by 50%

Now that the AMLD program has been expanded to give Dealers incentive for signing up stores to purchase directly from the SuperiCore Group (by giving them $1/game book/box set commission), a new win-win scenario has been created. Because Dealers are given exclusive rights to the stores they sign up, establishing territories is now possible - something Dealers have been asking for. Aside from all of these benefits, dealing with more stores is an important goal in and of itself because it builds a network of physical locations with the potential to host or provide space for meet ups and events - places where local independent Listers can go to meet with others, form Inner Circle, etc.
Every Inner Circle member, whether an AMLD or not, can talk to the owner of a local gaming, book, tattoo, novelty, new age or other potential store to help set them up to buy from them (if an AMLD) or directly form the SuperiCore Group.

Increase the number of public Morton's List related events by 50%

Whether at stores carrying Morton's List, gaming conventions, music or pagan festivals or official Karmic Gatherings, events allow current players to come together and List with new people (Fresh Karma), as well as encouraging those curious about Random Reality to try it out with an exciting mixed group of strangers and friends. Events of all sizes and types are the public face of the movement and an important aspect of spreading the Word of Morton. Regardless if an event is put on by the SuperiCore Group, sanctioned or endorsed, as long as Center is aware of it, it counts towards this important goal.
Every Inner Circle member can sign up for free with a local convention or other gathering to run a game or more of Morton's List there. Also, every member can host their own public event at a game store or other suitable venue.

Increase the number of hits/unique visitors to MortonsList.com by 50%

This web site acts as a communications hub between Center and Inner Circle members (the forum, etc.), a distribution center for free and promotional materials (Morton's Lite 13%, etc.), a major source of revenue (the web store), and many other functions such as education, explanation and advertising. Increasing the number of people exposed to the web site spreads the word about Random Reality and furthers all goals.
Every Inner Circle member can join the Morton's List Forum and connect with other Listers everywhere. Every member can also tell others about the game and encourage them to check out the site, download Morton's Lite, etc.

In addition to these growth objectives, many more specific goals and projects were discussed and positioned both in 2008 and beyond. These include (all goal names are working titles):

Project: iList

Beginning now for release mid-2008. Not much can be said about this secretive project other than it will allow Inner Circle members to take Morton's List where it has never gone before and experience the game in a whole new way.

Product: Book of Random Reality

Beginning now for an unscheduled release. Not much can be said about this secretive project other than it steps back and draws the widest circle around everything that Morton's List is, truly expanding the possibilities to all of Random Reality in all its entertaining and amazing forms. Not since Morton's List itself as such a grand and important book been conceived. The Revolution has truly begun.

Project: YouTube Videos

Beginning in September, Center will focus on producing video shorts on a wide range of topics specifically for distribution on YouTube and similar sites. Center is actively encouraging anyone with interest in this project to get on board.

Project: Virtual Omega Point

Work will begin in September 2008. Not much can be said about this secretive project other than it will push Random Reality into new realms and facilitate the interconnectedness of the truly global Inner Circle.

Project: Distribution

During 2008 distribution of Morton's List and SuperiCore products using an updated and expanded Press Kit will be secured.

Project: Dawn Rescue

Work has begun and must be completed before December 2012. Not much can be said about this secretive project other than it involves the completion of a Twilight Scroll Quest by the Karmic Order of Twilight Lords and will culminate in a Karmic Gathering ritual in Central America marking the Mayan calendar date of 13.0.0.0.0, the beginning of Baktun 13, a cycle lasting until March 26, 2407.

Product: The Radius, Volume 1

No production schedule has been set, and will depend in large part on what assistance the Head Inner Circle Editor of The Radius receives.

Product: New Morton's List Supplement

No production schedule has been set. This epic project will not only collect a wide variety of material, but will revolutionize the entire Morton's List experience, putting it into new and limitless contexts. Forming Inner Circles, taking the Oath, determining Table Master, Karmic Gatherings, Table Mastering - this is just the beginning of the scope of this work. It both expands on the foundation of 360 Degrees of the Inner Circle and sets forth an entirely new system of real life advancement.

Product: Morton's List 2nd Edition

No production schedule has been set. As existing stock of Morton's List depletes, work will begin on rethinking, expanding and repackaging the core Morton's List game as a series of enhanced books published over several years.

Product: Quest Book, Volumes 2 through 7

No production schedule has been set. As explained in the November Issue of The Radius, Volume 1 (already published) was Twilight Scroll themed. While each of the following six volumes of this series, will have the theme of two diametrically opposed Morton's List Tables:

  • Volume 2 - Solar Rise / Nightscape

  • Volume 3 - Cosmic Law / Chaos

  • Volume 4 - Mortal Ties / Vision Quest

  • Volume 5 - Lore Galore / Mountain

  • Volume 6 - "I'm Neutral" / Rainbow Dragon

  • Volume 7 - Yang of the Sky / Yin of the Earth

Center is actively encouraging art and graphics oriented Inner Circle members to take advantage of the unprecedented opportunity to become a major part of Morton's List history by applying to design one half of a volume. Thus, each volume will have two different styles, while retaining the same basic layout. The production schedule of Volume 2 will depend on Center identifying motivated and qualified Inner Circle members. Although only moderate familiarity with design and Adobe products (PhotoShop, Illustrator, etc.) is necessary, applicants should have a vision for the Table they will represent and the best candidate for each Table/Volume will be chosen.

Product: Quest for Shangri-La Supplement

No production schedule has been set. This project could evolve in several directions and will be reassessed in mid-2008.

Many more projects and plans have yet to congeal, perhaps this year perhaps 2009 will see them flower. These involve such diverse subjects as South American shamanic rituals, professional development, summer camps, trips to the world's sacred places, workshops and retreats.

This is not to mention events, which will be the focus of the February Issue of The Radius. The main event goal is to consolidate Center's focus to those events that were most successful in 2007 in order to free up the time needed to accomplish the above goals. Simultaneously, Center is actively encouraging Inner Circle members to run events at 2008 events, whether they were experimented with in 2007 or not. Repeat presence at events over time is the number one way to grow and succeed at them, while exploring new, large events can be well worth it the first time around. Or even throwing your own public on any scale.

The gate is indeed open in 2008 and looking forward the road is wide and welcoming. Center, together with Inner Circle members everywhere, is better positioned now than ever to spread the good Word of Morton, bringing Karma to all who are bored or busy. The goals and projects above are not only those of the SuperiCore Group, they are shared by the Karmic Order of Twilight Lords and indeed the entire movement. They are simply the refinement and focus of the direction the Inner Circle has already and always been moving in. Reflect upon what you have read and choose how you can become involved. Every single Inner Circle member has but one challenge in 2008: to step up and become a recognized part of the movement in some way, any way, small or large. Everyone is important because the Inner Circle is a family united by Karma where every member is respected. Everyone has something of great value to contribute, and everyone gains as the drops of Karma fall into our collective pool, each creating an ever widening circle.

In the eye of Karma

Atlantis and the Crystal Skulls

2007 by Cricket, Head Inner Circle Editor, member of The Empire of Nothing

Atlantis: the lost continent that went down in a catastrophic flood thousands of years ago. The Crystal Skulls: mysterious artifacts found all over the world and rumored to have mystical capabilities (powers would've sounded too cliché). Are both of these mysteries the products of a few "mere accidents" or something much deeper? The connection may be close at hand.

One of the most intriguing mysteries in the field of archaeology is that of the 13 Crystal Skulls. Already, several "perfect" skulls have been found in Mexico, Central and South America, and are believed to be somewhere between 5,000 and 35,000 years old. It's hard to pinpoint where these exquisite remains came from, but it is rumored that they originated in the long lost civilization of Atlantis. Historians and social anthropologists came across an ancient Indian legend citing thirteen crystal skulls belonging to the Goddess of Death, so powerful they were kept separately from each other under the strict control of pagan priests and special warriors. More skulls were found later not only in the U.S., but also Mexico, Brazil, France, Mongolia and Tibet, but not all of them in perfect condition.

The most famous crystal skull is the Mitchell-Hedges Skull, until recently, a long-time possession of Anna Mitchell-Hedges, who resided in Toronto, Canada. Every skull enthusiast has heard the story that this particular skull was found in Yucatan by Anna in 1927, during one of her father's expeditions - on her 17th birthday, no less. This story was entirely fabricated, however, because records of the British Museum prove that Mitchell-Hedges purchased it at an auction at Sotheby's in London in 1943. The only relation to the fabricated story is that the skull has an origin in Central America. In the early 1960s, Anna allowed scientists to investigate the skull because she thought it was too perfect to have been made by a civilization that lived before the Columbus discoveries.

Experts at Hewlett-Packard found that the crystal skull consisted of three or four joints grown together, had been cut out of one piece of crystal (including the lower jaw) and the rock crystal itself had a density slightly lower than topaz, corundum and diamond. Also, it had been carved against the natural axis of the crystal, which should have caused it to split or even shatter. No microscopic scratches from metal instruments could be found, so the best hypothesis for the skull's construction (assuming pre-modern origin) was that it was roughly hewn with diamonds then the detail work was done with a gentle solution of silicon sand and water.

A pair of skulls that are rumored to have been bought by mercenaries in Mexico in the 1890s are so similar in appearance that one is said to have carved to be an exact replica of the other. Comparing to the Mitchell-Hedges Skull, these two are not as carefully sculpted and the features appear incomplete, without discretely formed jawbones. The British Crystal Skull is on display at London's Museum of Mankind and the Paris Crystal Skull is housed by the Trocadero Museum of Paris (though recent research trips conducted by the Karmic Order of Twilight Lords to both of these museums have brought back evidence of skull suppressing activity). Several other skulls, including the Mayan and Amethyst, the Texas, ET, Rose Quartz, Aztec and the Rainbow Skull have been discovered throughout the last two centuries and have been subjected to extensive research with varying results.

The first questions that come to mind are, "Where did these skulls come from?" and "Why do they exist?" One of the main theories is that extraterrestrials or the Atlanteans created these skulls, and when brought together, they will reveal the mysteries of mankind. Some people also believe that "The ancient Crystal Skulls are the computers of the ancients; they contain important information that help humanity to pass through its current series of challenges to take us into a Golden Age," and "They were a powerful tool for healing the body, mind and spirit, by ancient civilizations such as The Mayans or the Atlanteans." Perhaps these skulls are linked to "Year Zero" or December 21, 2012, the day when the current (12th) Baktun of Mayan Calendar ends.

A group of psychics who performed experiments on the skulls revealed that psychometry and scrying showed scenes of the past, ancient ceremonies and even visions of Atlantis. It has also been recently discovered that using a certain shade of blue colored light on a skull brought about images of the same time period every time the blue light was used. Some of these skulls are estimated to be upwards of 100,000 years old, but without ancient documentation, psychometry may be the only way to obtain information about these astounding artifacts.

The lost continent and civilization of Atlantis is one of the age-old mysteries of the world since the Earth was first populated by mankind. The well-known Greek philosopher, Plato, famously wrote about and described Atlantis in his dialogues Timaeus and Critias. Of course, many believed it was only a story, but Plato was extremely insistent that it was a real place in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean (hence the name). Numerous cultures around the world share the story of a great flood that destroyed an entire civilization and the name of Atlantis appears in various forms throughout the world. The questions remains: Where is Atlantis now?

If you follow the continental drift theory to a tee, all the continents fit together if you look at a current map - with the exception of the U.S. in North America and Western Europe. Is Atlantis this missing piece of the continental puzzle? Possible site locations from the Bermuda Triangle to New Zealand are all being or have been researched and have come up with little results. Plato remarked that when the sea swallowed Atlantis this spot of the ocean become impassable and unsearchable. This lends circumstantial credence to the theory that the Bermuda Triangle is responsible for the great continent disappearing without a trace. Others have taken this to refer to the Sargasso Sea (the world's only shoreless sea) beginning just east of Bermuda in the North Atlantic, a roughly 700x2000 mile region often covered in sargassum, a type of seaweed, and sometimes entirely lacking wind - a deadly combination for ships.

Even though the entire city/continent was wiped out, some believe that a few Atlanteans were able to escape the disaster. In 1939, Edgar Cayce spoke of some Atlanteans crossing over to what is now known as Yucatan in a type of flying machine. Atlantis has also been credited for spawning the civilizations of Hellenic Greece, the Mayas & Incas of the New World and ancient Egypt. This great empire has had an extreme impact on all cultures, but the big question is this: Will Atlantis ever resurface?

The monoliths on Easter Island and the pyramids of Egypt are said to be a "signature" of the Atlantean culture surviving. Plato also wrote that Atlantis had a massive army of about 1.2 million soldiers, who rode in chariots, so horses were definitely used. This strengthens the theory that the domesticated horse that emerged from Asia was actually domesticated in Atlantis. Elephants were also supposedly also very important in Atlantis because during time period when the continent existed mastodons and mammoths were abundant. The elephant did not come into existence until Atlantis "fell" into the ocean, the same time when the mastodons and mammoths became extinct.

Remember that Plato wrote about Atlantis in 360 BCE. This was where it all started, with Plato's words:

"Let me begin by observing first of all, that nine thousand was the sum of years which had elapsed since the war which was said to have taken place between those who dwelt outside the Pillars of Hercules [West of the Straight of Gibraltar, i.e. in the Atlantic Ocean] and all who dwelt within them [i.e. the Mediterranean cultures]; this war I am going to describe. Of the combatants on the one side, the city of Athens was reported to have been the leader and to have fought out the war; the combatants on the other side were commanded by the kings of Atlantis, which, as was saying, was an island greater in extent than Libya and Asia [a reference to the comparatively small Middle Eastern portion of Asia the Greeks were then familiar with], and when afterwards sunk by an earthquake, became an impassable barrier of mud to voyagers sailing from hence any part of the ocean. The progress of the history will unfold the various nations of barbarians and families of Hellenes which then existed, as they successively appear on the scene; but I must describe first of all Athenians of that day, and their enemies who fought with them, and then the respective powers and governments of the two kingdoms. Let us give the precedence to Athens."

A man named Solon, who received the information from the ancient Egyptians, told Plato's revelation of Atlantis to him. However, the conclusion to this fantastic transcript is missing, and we may never know what was at the end of it. Solon talked about Gods and spirits who made the Atlanteans the way they were, but this ancient influence could have come from anywhere, even from the stars. To this day there are many possible locations of the lost continent; however, scientific evidence strong enough to prove Atlantis existed has yet to be found, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't exist!

As I inquired at the beginning of this exploration: do the Crystal Skulls and Atlantis have a connection? If so, what is it? How were these skulls formed? Where is Atlantis now? Will humankind ever know the answers to these questions? Only ambition, research, and Karma will tell.

2008 is all about looking ahead, discovering new territory, not just in the world around us but more importantly the world within us. Muriel Rukeyser, the great 20th century poet and activist, is famous for saying, "The universe is made of stories, not atoms." In a sense she is right, because our individual and collective experiences do indeed form the foundation of our experiential reality.

Morton's List is a million stories waiting to happen. Not just to the person directly experiencing the events, but to the entire Global Inner Circle. To the extent that each one of us embraces the Karma of Random Reality we move closer to being one with all others who walk the same path. It is crucial that we share our stories, our experiences, for this is the most fundamental and perhaps the most important way we can connect with other current and future Inner Circle members.

They need not be long, have a moral, be witty or even make any sense. And they certainly need not be perfect. Ten minutes of recollection and writing is all it takes. There is but one requirement: that they be true to your own experience, a small part of the story of your life, but a part none-the-less.

Give the gift of your story, just one, to the Inner Circle this year and Karma will see to it that you have much more to tell.

Summer Quest 2008

The Radius will advertise all events submitted to TheRadius@gmail.com provided their start date is at least 30 days after the 13th of the month the issue is released.

Get ready for the complete Summer Quest 2008 schedule of events in the February issue of The Radius! Until then make sure you're on track with your AlasKarma preparations.

This summer, big events are crossing over to the Karmic calendar of Morton's List. This year the SuperiCore Group and the Karmic Order of Twilight Lords are preparing to bring Morton's List to more events and in a bigger way than ever before. With the help of the Inner Circle, Center will simultaneously be directing efforts to deepen the Random Reality presence at and commitment to some events, and support Inner Circle pioneers at new events. Some events will receive more top down focus and resources while others will be spearheaded from the street level, paving the way for future direct SuperiCore involvement.

As in 2007, Inner Circle members are encouraged to attend and throw their own events. If you make a goal of bringing Morton's List to just one event this year, whether attending or volunteering at one already part of Summer Quest 2008, checking out another one or throwing your own, you will be doing your Karmic part to support the movement. Thanks to all those who have committed to spreading the Word of Morton and to those who will step up this year. The Inner Circle welcomes your Karma.

The Karmic Gathering: AlasKarma

Friday, June 13th - Sunday, June 15th

LATEST WORD
2008 is here - the year of AlasKarma! Not so long ago it seemed so far away. Now Inner Circle members and Center representatives already have their tickets to Anchorage, including Thug Je$u$, committed to leave Miami and brave the Alaskan wilds! This is the time to get your flight at the cheapest it will be all year or at the very least start a web sites emailing you pricing changes so you can pounce on a good deal. Due to some delays in launching the new Morton's List web store, AlasKarma tickets and donations will be handled by your host, Big Cheddar, directly for now.

ABOUT THIS EVENT
AlasKarma is the frontier of Karmic Gatherings. Hosted by that Disgruntled Goat, your friend(or soon to be) Dan "Big Cheddar" Morris, it revolves around three days of Morton's List and includes lots of group activities, Karmic trips to nearby natural wonders, and all the fun of camping with friends, new and old. Also, it is the first outdoor Karmic Gathering. Outdoors in Alaska? Are we crazy? Well, yes, but we've timed this event to be within one week of the summer solstice (longest day of the year - a full 19 hours of daylight!) when Alaska experiences a brief but strong summer and temperatures soar to the 70s and 80s.

Each previous Karmic Gathering has taken place further from Centers Detroit and NYC (first, Detroit, then Knoxville, Miami, now Wasilla, Alaska). Yet as with all Karmic Gathering, it occurs at the very Center of Random Reality. Beyond the physical, AlasKarma marks the transition from the conventional group gathering model to a destination/trip experience. In this way, Karmic Gatherings are becoming more like the Morton's List experience, which takes you outside of your normal reality in order to experience something meaningful, then brings you back. AlasKarma will take you to new heights - even if you're from Alaska!

Prepare to Pioneer a Once in a Lifetime Experience.

Prepare to Journey to the Frontier of Random Reality.

Prepare to Be There.

CIRCLE ONSITE

For those coming from out of state, just committing to be at this event and purchasing a ticket at the highest donation level you can afford says a lot about your dedication. Yet for anyone attending, locally of from afar, there are many ways you can help out with the event onsite by contributing your personal Karma, such as by bringing:

  • Your own Karmic cup, plate and utensils
  • A gift to exchange and/or small gifts to give to all attendees
  • A dish to share at potluck
  • Special clothing such as a ninja suit, ceremonial cloak or costume
  • Dice, books and artifacts you use to List at home

Also consider evolving from spectator/attendee to player/participant by running your own Quest, seminar, workshop or other event. This is a great way to connect with others and uplift the communal Karma. Center relies on the help of volunteers to put on intense events such as AlasKarma. Each person can help immensely, whether committed for an hour or the weekend. To volunteer email MortonsList@gmail.com.

CIRCLE OFFSITE

For some people it will just not be possible to physically be in Alaska with us at this time. Although Morton's List encourages overcoming all illusory restrictions of money, time, ability and undue obligation, we all must choose which ways to contribute to the movement in 2008 and for some this will regrettably mean missing AlasKarma. But wait! Just because your physical body may not be there, doesn't mean your Karma can't be. There are many ways you can connect with and support AlasKarma, even from thousands of miles away, including:

  • Attending or holding your own simultaneous event. Karmic Gatherings are but the focal event of Global Inner Circle celebrations and all are encouraged to treat the days of a Karmic Gathering as a holiday or festival
  • Rolling Quests on the same days and/or times
  • Fundraising to send one lucky (random?) member of your Inner Circle as a representative to Alaska
  • Contacting Inner Circle members at AlasKarma to connect with the Karma and share your own
  • Spreading the word about AlasKarma to everyone you know and encouraging them to attend or join you in any of the above
